ESL Program Application We recommend applying at least two months in advance to allow time for your acceptance documents to arrive and visa application to process at the US Consulate or Embassy. To Apply, the following items must be submitted: I. Application Form To apply, you can:

Evidence of Financial Support Every applicant applying for a student visa needs to show sufficient financial resources to study and live in the United States for the time he/she is here . The length of study determines the amount. The estimated cost for tuition, housing and meals for a 12-weeks program is about US$4000. For example, if you plan to study for 24-weeks (6 months), you will need to show at least US$8000 of financial resources; US$14000 for one year. If you are applying for two years, you will only need to show one year of financial support. Generally, there are 3 types of sponsors:
If you have a relative or friend who is a US citizen or permanent resident and sponsoring you, they will need to complete and notarize an I-134 Affidavit of Support Form. Contact us for a form if you cannot download it. All other sponsors will need to submit their bank statement along with a certificate verifying their sponsorship. Note: Copies of these document(s) can be faxed, mailed or emailed along with your application. The US Embassy/Consular Office will require the originals as evidence of financial support.IV. Deposit and Fees A non-refundable US$75 application fee is required with each application. If you are requesting special courier delivery (USPS express mail, DHL, FedEx) and/or any other services, please include appropriate fees with deposit. Transfer Form and Nonimmigrant Student
Form The Transfer Form must me completed by you and your current/former student advisor. It will determine your eligibility to transfer. Please contact us for a form if you cannot download it. Your application will be processed once we receive the above items. The review process usually takes 2-4 days. Upon acceptance, we will send you an I-20 and Letter of Acceptance. Take these along with your Passport and Evidence of Financial Support to the nearest US Embassy or Consulate to apply for your F-1 Student Visa. Important: Once you receive your I-20, all F-1 student visa applicants are required to pay a US$100 SEVIS fee (this is not the same as the visa fee). Payments can be submitted at www.FMJfee.com only after receiving the I-20 and must be paid at least 3 days before going to the US Embassy or Consulate If you have any questions about the application process, please do not hesitate to contact us. |
